Reiner says has talked with President about Croatia's stability

Croatian Parliament Speaker Zeljko Reiner said on Monday that earlier in the day he had talked with President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic about "the stability of the Croatian state."

"I have talked with the president and the talks revolved around the stability of the Croatian state," Reiner said in a brief comment after the ceremony of opening an exhibition on the Croatian parliament staged in the Croatian Archives' building in the downtown Zagreb.

Croatia's President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic on Monday morning convened a meeting with Parliament Speaker Zeljko Reiner and Prime Minister Tihomir Oreskovic, a source from the Office of the Croatian President told Hina declining to say anything more about the contents of the talks.

After attending the ceremony in the Croatian Archives, Culture Minister Zlatko Hasanbegovic of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) was asked by reporters whether the HDZ would file a motion of no confidence in PM Oreskovic, and answered that the public would be notified of the decision to this effect when it was made.

"We are now involved in intensive consultations and discussions on what is the best for the Croatian state," Hasanbegovic said.
