SDP MP: Govt unlawfully adopting legislative regulations

A member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Pedja Grbin, told a press conference in Rijeka on Monday that the outgoing government was unlawfully adopting legislative regulations and once the SDP comes to power it would remove all the damage that may occur and launch the appropriate procedures against all those responsible so that they personally compensate the damage.

Grbin underscored that members of the outgoing government were adopting regulations with which they plan to amend laws even after parliament was dissolved on July 15. This, he said, primarily refers to Social Policy and Youth Minister Bernardica Juretic who intends to adopt a regulation to implement one of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) pre-election promises as well as Culture Minister Zlatko Hasanbegovic who intends to implement amendments to the Law on HRT (Croatian Radio Television) to extend the term of acting director.

Another member of the SDP presidency, Zeljko Jovanovic, assessed that the ruling majority and government were the worst we've ever had. Only three parliamentary sessions were held at which only 33 laws adopted of which only one was not adopted under fast track procedure, he said.

The Patriotic Coalition and Bridge restored disorder and chaos in the country and the result is a paralysed government and economy and insecurity in all of society, he said, adding that the SDP is prepared to bring back security, work, freedom of the press and an education system for the 21st century back to the country as well as adequate health system.
