Turkish president to officially visit Croatia in late April

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled to pay an official visit to Croatia at the end of April, Erdogan's office said in a press release Monday.

Erdogan will conduct a two-day visit to Zagreb on April 26 and 27. Although details of his visit have not been released, it is assumed that the Turkish head of state will hold talks with top Croatian officials about bilateral relations and the advancement of economic cooperation, the migrant crisis, the closure of the Balkan route, the EU-Turkey agreement about the return of migrants and refugees and Turkey's EU entry talks.

Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic met her Turkish counterpart on the fringes of the annual Atlantic Council Energy and Economic Summit held in Istanbul last year when Erdogan announced his visit to Croatia.

Before Croatia, Erdogan will travel to Azerbaijan on April 25 and 26.
