Two HAC management board members acquitted in Sklad Gradnja case

The former chairman and a member of the management board of the Croatian motorways operator HAC, Jurica Prskalo and Marijo Lovrincevic respectively, have been acquitted of charges that they made it possible for the Sklad Gradnja company to build a rest area by the motorway near the southern port town of Ploce that had not been planned.

The verdict was handed down by Zagreb County Court on Monday.

The court dismissed the allegations that Prskalo and Lovrincevic had abused their position and powers by making it possible for Sklad Gradnja to build an unplanned and unnecessary rest and service facility at the section of the motorway between Ploce 1 and Ploce Port. The prosecution claimed that in that way they had caused financial damage to HAC in excess of 58.5 million kuna (7.7 million euros).

The accused denied the charges from the start.
