Zagreb residents pretty happy with quality of life - survey

Residents of the Croatian capital of Zagreb are among those who are mainly satisfied with various aspects of urban life in their city, according to findings of Eurobarometer's survey on quality of life in cities across Europe.

During the survey "Quality of Life in European Cities" conducted in 79 cities in 28 EU member-states plus Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey, 40,000 people were interviewed about their satisfaction with  employment opportunities, presence of foreigners, public transports, housing, pollution and so on in their cities.

The survey, designed to allow cities to compare themselves on 30 criteria addressing social, economic, cultural and environmental issues, show that when it comes to the presence of foreigners and their successful integration, Zagreb ranks first.

The European Commission publishes this survey every three years.
