Motovun Film Festival to be held July 26-30

The 19th edition of the Motovun Film Festival will take place from July 26 to 30, with as many as 15 premieres included in this year's programme.

Among the premiers will be Jim Jarmusch's latest documentary "Gimme Danger", a film about the career, music and phenomenon of The Stooges,  the indie-hit "Tangerine" that is entirely shot with a cell phone. The audience will also see the premiere of "The Clan", the Argentine candidate for the Oscar – a film based on the true story about the horrifying crimes of a family of professional kidnappers.

Other films of the main programme include Italian filmmaker Gianfranco Rossi's "Fire At Sea", the winner of Berlinale, "The Student" (the winner of Francois Chalais Prize in Cannes), and the U.S. film "Certain Women" with Laura Dern, Michelle Williams and Kristen Stewart.

This year the partner country is Italy.

The festival also includes a programme called "Where Were You in 2016?" tackling the rise of right-wing extremism and in this segment the festival will screen the German hit "We Are Young. We Are Strong,", the Greek film "Fascism Inc." about the new rise of Fascism and the Russian-Israeli documentary "Credit for Murder".
