Slovenia will set up an 80 kilometre razor wire fence along parts of its border with Croatia, and the fence will be erected at Slovenia's Schengen border, Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec said on Wednesday during his visit to Vienna.
Erjavec informed the Austrian Chancellor's chief-of-staff Josef Ostermayer of Slovenia's plan to erect the wire fence which Ljubljana describes as "a technical barrier" intended to prevent a possible humanitarian disaster, according to the Slovenian national television.
"The fences are not there to seal the border but to make it possible for us to organise the reception of migrants where we can register them," Erjavec told the Slovenian media.
Slovenian army troops started erecting the fence on Wednesday morning and since then 1.5 kilometres of those barriers have been set up.
Slovenian officials have said that there is a plan to keep the barriers for six months
