Abdeslam to be held in isolated high-security detention near Paris

French Justice Minister Jean-Jacques Urvoas says preparations are underway to hold Paris attacks suspect Salah Abdeslam in a high-security detention centre near the French capital.

Urvoas says that Abdeslam's isolated detention will be overseen by a surveillance team. The French prosecutor's office is seeking provisional detention of Abdeslam while the case against him is prepared.

Abeslam, who was transferred from Belgium to France on Wednesday, is due to appear in front of investigating judges sometime during the day.
