High French state decoration bestowed on Croatian principal

French Ambassador to Croatia Michele Boccoz on Thursday decorated the principal of the Pucisce Elementary School on the sland of Brac with the Order of Academic Palms awarded for contributions to French education and culture.

Lucija Puljak has a PhD in linguistics and has spent her entire career endeavouring to make young people aware of special attributes of their places of origin.

I was quite surprised by this honour, Puljak said, stressing that this decoration was also the result of an exhibition of photographs by her pupils at the Pucisce school entitled, "The care of young people for their local heritage" held in Baillargues in 2009 and Montpellier in 2011. Puljak, however, stressed the most attention was focused on another exhibition entitled "The young and heritage" presented in front of the City Assembly building in Paris in May 2013 on the occasion of Croatia accessing the European Union.
