Some injured and possibly dead after shooting in Munich, police say

A shooting at the Olympia shopping centre in Munich has left victims injured and possibly dead, a police spokesman says.

The situation is still unclear, he adds.

Police had received a call around 6 pm local time (1600 GMT), according to a police spokeswoman.

"It seems to be a bigger thing," she says.

Police cordoned off the area near Munich's Olympic Park.

According to the website of German daily Sueddeutsche Zeitung, several people were killed in the shooting.
