Report: Turkey arrests 14 more suspects over Istanbul airport attack

Turkish authorities have arrested 14 additional suspects, including 11 foreigners, over the terrorist attack on Istanbul's Ataturk international airport, CNN Turk reported Sunday.

The broadcaster did not provide additional details. The number of arrests now totals 27, after 13 people were held on Thursday following raids across Istanbul.

The death toll from the Tuesday's attack, the worst in Istanbul in more than a decade, rose to 45 at the weekend. Some 240 people were wounded.

The authorities have said that the three assailants came from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, and carried out what appeared to be a coordinated strike on the major global transit hub.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, which involved firearms and explosives, but Turkish officials have pointed the finger at Islamic State.
