Several people injured in German cinema shooting: report

Several people have been injured in a shooting at a cinema in the south-western German town of Vierheim near Frankfurt, the FAZ newspaper reports Thursday citing police.

One heavily armed and masked man entered the cinema complex at about 3 pm (1400 GMT) and has barricaded himself inside, FAZ reported, adding that witnesses had heard gunshots.

Police sources told the newspaper that several people had been wounded but that it was unclear whether the man was holding hostages.

The complex has been cordoned off.
