Terrorist suspect who revealed Dusseldorf plot extradited to Germany

An Islamic State suspect who allegedly revealed plans to carry out suicide attacks in the city of Dusseldorf has been extradited from France to Germany, the Karlsruhe prosecutor's office said Friday.

Saleh A, whose full name has been withheld in line with German privacy laws, was detained in Paris earlier this year and was said to have revealed the terrorist plot to French authorities on February 1.

His revelations led to the arrests of Hamza C, Mahood B and Adb Arahman A K - all Syrian nationals - in three different German states in June.

The suspected plot involved two militants blowing themselves up with explosive vests in the western German city's historic centre and the remaining men killing others with firearms, but there was no evidence to indicate the plan was close to fruition.

The militants, believed to be part of a terrorist cell, are aged between 25 and 31.

All four are suspected members of Islamic State, while Adb Arahman A K is also thought to have been involved in the activities of Jabhat Fatah al-Sham, a former al-Qaeda-linked group previously known as the al-Nusra Front.
