Netflix launched in Croatia, goes global to 130 new countries

Video streamer Netflix went live around the world Wednesday, adding 130 new countries to its service and launching what Netflix chief executive Reed Hastings called a "global internet TV network."

The announcement at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas more than triples the number of countries where Netflix is available, from 60 to 190, including the potentially huge markets of India, Russia and South Korea.

The list does not yet include China, but the company's addition of Simplified and Traditional Chinese to its supported languages may suggest that it believes it has an audience there unofficially, technology news website The Verge reported.

The streaming service also added support in Arabic and Korean.

Netflix was founded in 1997 as a mail-order DVD rental service in the United States.

With increases in internet speeds and use of now-ubiquitous mobile devices, the company expanded into streaming video and original content production and now reports 69 million subscribers in 60 countries worldwide.

Netflix in Croatia

Netflix pricing in Croatia is same as for rest Europe, starting from 7.99 euros per month. Paying for service can be done with a debit card or PayPal. Croatian subtitles are still not available. With Netflix being available in Croatia, it's  probably starting a more exciting time for local video stream market.
