Argentina increased their lead in the football world rankings issued on Thursday by the ruling body FIFA while resurgent Brazil climbed five places into joint fourth.
Argentina top the national team rankings with 1,646 points from Belgium (1,369) and world champions Germany (1,347).
Brazil are tied with Colombia on 1,323 points after winning two World Cup qualifiers against the Colombians and Ecuador; with Chile, Portugal, France, Uruguay and Wales completing the top 10.
Of the new federations within FIFA, Kosovo climbed 22 places into 168th while Gibraltar are joint last in 205th place with Anguilla, Bahamas, Djibouti, Eritrea and Somalia.
Both played their first ever World Cup qualifiers this month, with Kosovo drawing in Finland and winning against the Faroe Islands while Gibraltar lost both games.
