Barcelona cruised to triumph in the Spanish Super Cup with an impressive 3-0 destruction Wednesday of brittle Sevilla, with a handsome brace from Arda Turan followed by a final goal from Lionel Messi.
Barca took the trophy on an emphatic 5-0 aggregate, having won the first leg 2-0 on Sunday in Seville.
"We are certainly not tired of winning trophies," Barca's midfield anchorman Sergio Busquets said.
"Let's hope that our triumphs continue for many more years. ... We are still a hungry and ambitious team."
Sevilla coach Jorge Sampaoli paid tribute to Barca: "They are a wonderful team, and very hard to stop. They move the ball around very quickly, and it is so difficult to keep up with their speed."
Arda's goals confirmed that he is finally adapting to Barca's quick-passing style, after a difficult first season at the Camp Nou.
Sevilla started the game defiantly but seemed to lose heart after Vicente Iborra had a penalty saved by Barca keeper Claudio Bravo.
By then, Barca were already 1-0 up, after Arda had clinically finished a clever move between debutant Andre Gomes and Messi.
Arda made it 2-0 just after half-time with a spectacular long drive, then Messi completed the scoring by heading in a precise centre from the promising Lucas Digne.
