Croatia wins bronze at European Men's Handball Championship in Poland

Croatia won the bronze at the 2016 European Men's Handball Championship in Krakow on Sunday by defeating Norway 31-24 (15-11), directly qualifying for the 2017 World Men's Handball Championship in France.

This was Croatia's third bronze at European Men's Handball Championships after finishing third in Portugal in 1994 and in Serbia four years ago.

Croatia has so far played six times for the bronze, and have the ratio of 3-3 while Norway has not won a medal at the Euros, also had never even played in the semifinals.

It was a match of the two most effective team in the European Championship in Poland. Domagoj Duvnjak was awarded Best Player of the Match.

Before the match, Manuel Strlek was included in the best team of the championship and the goalkeeper Mirko Alilovic says that this might be his last game for the national team.

It was the fifth time in four years that Croatia were playing for bronze at a major handball tournament.
