Croatia's Perkovic, reigning European champion, defends her title in discus throw

The best Croatian track and field athlete Sandra Perkovic on Friday became the European champion in the discus throw event, for the fourth consecutive time.

With her throw of 69.97 metres at the ongoing championships in Amsterdam, Perkovic bagged the gold, while German Julia Fischer won the silver (65.77). The bronze went to German Shanice Craft (63.89).

At the 2012 Summer Olympics Perkovic won the gold medal with a new national record of 69.11 m and she who won the world title in 2013.
