FIFA ethics investigatory chamber intends to appeal against the eight-year bans imposed on Joseph Blatter and Michel Platini and is calling for tougher sanctions.
Andreas Bantel, spokesman for the chamber, told dpa an appeal would be lodged against the bans imposed by the adjudicatory chamber of the ethics committee.
Blatter, the barred head of football's world governing body, and UEFA president Platini have both said they would also be appealing their eight-year bans.
Both men were banned in connection with a "disloyal" payment of 2 million dollars Platini received in 2011 for FIFA work done between 1998 and 2002.
