Focus on Bale - and Hamsik - as Wales face Slovakia

The spotlight will be on Real Madrid's Gareth Bale when Wales take on Slovakia at Euro 2016 on Saturday, Wales manager Chris Coleman admitted Friday.

"When you become the most expensive player in the world and play for Real Madrid it becomes normal for teams to pay you a lot of attention. Gareth Bale is used to it," Coleman said..

"He is used to having the eyes of the world on him and he is looking forward to it. I expect everyone we play against to show him attention."

Slovakia's own star player Marek Hamsik meanwhile downplayed his status ahead of his nation's Euro 2016 debut, saying he was not at the same level as Bale.

"Gareth is one of the best footballers in the world. I do not want to compare myself to him," the Napoli playmaker Hamsik said.

"This is not a game Bale against Hamsik, it is Wales against Slovakia."

Hamsik expects a lot of attacking play in the Group B encounter in Bordeaux.

"I do not think it will be a defensive match," he said. "Only those who scores goals can win games."

Coleman said: "Slovakia are a good team. It will be a good game and a good test. It will be two teams who see the opportunity to get that first win."

Wales captain Ashley Williams said the team respected both Slovakia and Hamsik, adding: "He is a great player."
