Congress on social tourism to be held in Zagreb on Oct 18-21

ZAGREB, Sept 25 (Hina) - The ISTO (International Social Tourism Organisation) World Congress will take place in Zagreb in Croatia from 18-21 October, and will focus on the latest trends of social, solidarity-based, responsible and inclusive tourism, with an emphasis on social policy as a driver of growth for domestic tourism, a news conference heard this past Thursday.

The conference will be organised by ISTO in cooperation with Croatian partners, including the City of Zagreb, Tourism Ministry, the Social Policy Ministry, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, the National Tourism Board, the Croatian Holiday and Hostel Federation, etc.

The event is expected to attract approximately 200 participants from around the globe.

This is the first time for an ISTO World Congress to be held in Croatia.

This Congress will be a direct continuation of the previous edition, held in Sao Paulo, as it will be the outcome of the decisions initiated since: on the one hand to open the scope of actions of ISTO and secondly, to strengthen the Organisation to serve its members with a more dynamic vision of Social Tourism.
