Dharma Hostel in Rijeka wins Industriana label

The Dharma Hostel in Rijeka, located in the compounds of a former tyre factory, on Thursday officially received an Industriana facade label, the first in Croatia listed under the Industriana European industrial and Technical Heritage.

The Dharma Hostel won it as a reward for its effort in the preservation of great industrial and technical heritage at a conference which the European Cultural Tourism Network (ECTN) held in Riga.

The ECTN project of hostels and culture halls included Dharma amongst ten nominated European projects on the theme of industrial heritage and is now the first and only premises in Croatia awarded with a QR Industriana Code.

The reconstruction and the conversion of the disused industrial hall into the hostel with additional amenities began in 2011 and the hostel opened its door to guests in 2013.

The Lonely Planet tourism guide in 2014 listed it among top three hostels in Croatia and among the 20 best in Europe.
