Espadrilles with gingerbread heart motif launched as new Croatian souvenir

Espadrilles with a traditional gingerbread heart motif and embellished with Swarovski crystals were launched in Zagreb on Monday as a new Croatian souvenir, designed in collaboration between the Borovo shoe factory and the Croatian fashion brand Hippy Garden.

The espadrilles are hand-made from natural materials and come packed in a recycled box of state-of-the-art design, Hippy Garden fashion designer Djurdjica Vorkapic said.

Hippy Garden has already decorated various products, including bags, towels, T-shirts and cosmetic products, with the Croatian traditional gingerbread heart motif as part of its "From Croatia with Love" product line, she added.

The espadrilles will be initially available at about 20 busiest points of sale, including airports, at 290 kuna (38 euros) a pair.
