Kvarner to present its health tourism in Norway

Croatia's coastal area of Kvarner including Rijeka and nearby Mediterranean resorts will promote its tourist trade, notably its health tourism, in Oslo on 20 and 21 April, the local tourism board said in a statement Tuesday.

The promotion of Croatia's tourism services in Oslo is organised in cooperation with the Croatian Embassy in Norway. The two-day event is expected to be attended by representatives of Norwegian travel agencies, insurance companies, associations of patients, numerous public figures and the media.

One of the facts that will be highlighted at the event will be that in 1904 King Oscar II of Norway and Sweden visited Opatija with Queen Sofia for a longer vacation.

The tourism board also notes that the Norwegian market has been brought even closer to Croatia following the establishment of a direct line of Norwegian Air from Oslo to Rijeka.
