Puccini's "Turandot" to open 62nd Split Summer Festival

The raising of the festival flag outside the Mestrovic Gallery on July 14 will mark the opening of the 62nd Split Summer Festival after which members of Split's Croatian National Theatre will perform a premiere of Puccini's Turandot opera directed by Ozren Prohic and conducted by Ivo Lipanovic.

Festival director Goran Glolovko told a press conference on Thursday that several attractive titles had been prepared for the festival.

The festival will last until August 14 and present performances by domestic and foreign ensembles on outdoor stages. This year's festival comprises 38 dramas, operas, ballets and concerts as well as three art exhibitions.
