Air force helicopter crash in Uruguay kills two

Montevideo (dpa) - Two Uruguayan air force crew were killed when their helicopter crashed during a training exercise on Tuesday, local media reported.

The cause of the crash, which occured near Montevideo's Carrasco International Airport, was not yet known.

The crew of the Bell UH-1H type helicopter were attempting to perform an emergency landing, a Uruguayan Air Force spokesman told the newspaper "El Observador".

The two died from their injuries a few hours later.

On Friday an air force Cessna A-37 crashed in the central Uruguayan department of Durazno, also killing two pilots.
