Newly elected Burkina Faso President Roch Kabore named himself his country's defence minister on Wednesday.
Kabore, 58, also appointed himself as the minister of veterans affairs as he appointed his new cabinet, according to an announcement made on state radio.
The cabinet includes two journalists: Alpha Barry of Omega FM, who was appointed foreign minister; and Remi Dandjinou of the private television channel Burkina Info, who was named minister of communication and relations with parliament.
The appointments come less than a week after Kabore appointed economist Paul Kaba Thieba as his prime minister.
Former president Blaise Compaore fled the country after an uprising by thousands of Burkinese against his plans to modify the constitution in order to extend his 27-year rule.
A transitional government was put in place with fresh elections set for October, but a coup attempt led by Compaore loyalist General Gilbert Diendere in September delayed the vote.
Kabore won the general election in November, with a majority in the first round of voting.
