Cyprus and Egypt are to build a natural gas pipeline between the two Mediterranean countries, Cypriot media reported on Wednesday.
The countries' energy ministers signed the deal in the Cypriot capital Nicosia, according to state radio and Cyprus' largest newspaper, Phileleftheros.
Natural gas reservoirs have been discovered below the seabed south of the island, with exploitation not expected to begin before 2018.
Egypt has the option of turning the raw material into its more transportable form, liquified natural gas (LNG).
