Families, friends remember MH370 disappearance in Malaysia

Friends and relatives of people aboard Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 gathered in a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur Sunday to commemorate the second year of the disappearance of the aircraft.

The relatives gathered in the mall in the city centre to urge the government to continue searching for the aircraft that disappeared on March 8, 2014, about an hour after it took off from Kuala Lumpur bound for Beijing with 239 people on board.

Jing Hui, 42, from China whose mother was among the passengers on the missing aircraft, said he flew to Kuala Lumpur after the airline refused to hold remembrance ceremony in Beijing.

"The past two years have been the worst years of my life," he said. "I want to let my mother know I will never give up."

Zamami Zakaria, 58, a Kuala Lumpur-based police officer whose son and daughter-in-law were among the passengers, echoed the sentiments of the relatives not to give up the search.

"I want the authorities to continue the search until the plane is found," he said

An international investigating team is expected to deliver a report on the incident on Tuesday, the second anniversary of the disappearance.
