Frenchman arrested while hunting Pokemon on Indonesian army base

A Frenchman has been arrested in Indonesia for entering a military base while hunting for Pokemon, police said Tuesday.

The Frenchman was playing Pokemon Go, a popular smartphone game that ostensibly encourages players explore their neighborhoods, while jogging late Monday when he inadvertently entered the garrison in Cirebon, West Java province, local police chief Yusri Yunus said.

"He went astray while playing Pokemon and was arrested by a soldier on duty at the Cirebon garrison," he said.

Yusri said the man, an employee for a French pharmaceutical company, was released in the early hours of Tuesday.
