Malaysian leader pines for US President Obama’s “The Beast” limousine

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on Thursday said he pines for the mammoth presidential vehicle of US President Barack Obama, which he described as a “lovely car.”

Najib said the presidential limousine was more comfortable than his official car, which was made by national carmaker Proton Holdings Berhad.

“It feels safe because it is bulletproof and can withstand explosives up to a certain intensity,” he told a gathering of digital entrepreneurs, investors and business executives in Kuala Lumpur. “I wish I had one.”

Najib was able to ride with Obama on board “The Beast” during the US leader's visit to Malaysia last year.

The Cadillac limousine, which is bullet proof and has puncture-proof tyres, oxygen tanks and armour-plated fuel tanks, was custom-built by General Motors in 2009.
