Officials: Two explosions at Istanbul airport leave several wounded

Two explosions at Istanbul's international Ataturk Airport have left several people wounded, Turkish government officials say.

Videos posted on social media showed panicked passengers inside the airport's building and sounds of what seemed to be gunfire.

A large number of ambulances were at the scene near the international terminal. Ataturk Airport is one of the largest in the region by passenger traffic.

A series of bombings have hit tourist-heavy areas of Istanbul this year, two of which were blamed on Islamic State and one on Kurdish militants.
