Palestinian man shot by Israeli soldiers in West Bank

A Palestinian man was shot dead by Israeli soldiers Friday as he ran towards them on the West Bank, according to an army spokeswoman.

An investigation into the incident, which occurred north-east of Ramallah, is ongoing, she said. She would not comment on reports that the dead man was not carrying a weapon.

A series of attacks by Palestinians targeting Israelis - often with knives or their cars - has left 35 Israelis dead since October. More than 200 Palestinians - most of those people who initiated attacks - have also died.
