Polls close in Australia's eastern coast

Polling booths have closed in the eastern states of Australia for the ongoing parliamentary election, a spokesman for the country's electoral commission said.

"The voting will go on for another two hours in the western coast due to time difference," the spokesman said.

Counting will begin immediately, he added, but the results will start coming only after a couple hours.

Exit polls are showing coalition and Labor at neck and neck.
