Report: Shooting at New York concert leaves one dead

One man was killed and three other people injured by gunfire backstage at a rap concert in New York late Wednesday, a news report said.

Shots rang out at 10:15 pm (0215 Thursday GMT) shortly before rapper T.I. was due to start his headline set at the Irving Plaza club, near Manhattan's Union Square, witnesses and the police were quoted as saying by the New York Times.

The shots were clearly audible in the audience, which started running for the exit, according to witness accounts and footage.

Witnesses reported that the shots might have had something do with a dispute that broke out backstage beforehand.

No one has been arrested so far, but police have opened an investigation.
