All military hostilities in Syria's Aleppo province will halt for three hours on three days starting Thursday to allow humanitarian convoys to deliver aid to civilians, Russian General Sergei Rudskoi tells reporters.
"As of tomorrow, humanitarian 'windows' will open from 10 am to 1 pm local time to guarantee the safe passage of convoys into Aleppo. All military hostilities, flights and artillery strikes should stop during that time," Rudskoi says in comments carried by state news agency TASS.
About 1,000 militants in the area have been eliminated in recent days, but the "situation remains complicated" around the city, Rudskoi says.
A grouping of about 7,000 militants with artillery, tanks and other armed vehicles has amassed in the south-west of Aleppo, Rudskoi says.
