Canada "strongly condemns" the terrorist attack on a luxury hotel in Burkina Faso's capital that killed at least 26 people, including six Canadians, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says.
"On behalf of all Canadians, we offer our deepest condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of all those killed and a speedy recovery to all those injured," Trudeau says in a statement. "We are deeply saddened by these senseless acts of violence on innocent civilians."
Canada has offered its assistance to the Burkinabé authorities in their investigation of "this terrible crime," Trudeau says.
