Suicide bombing kills at least 13 in Iraq

At least 13 people were killed Sunday in a suicide car bombing south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, police said.

The explosion occurred when a suicide bomber rammed a car into a security checkpoint in the town of Hilla, some 100 kilometres south of Baghdad, they added.

At least 45 were injured.

It was not immediately clear if the victims included civilians.

No one has claimed responsibility.

Previous such attacks were claimed by the Islamic State terrorist militia that controls territory in Iraq.
