Trump running mate offended by his sex talk, says he can't defend it

Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence says he "cannot defend" Donald Trump's crude sexual comments in a recording from 2005 that emerged on Friday.

"As a husband and father, I was offended by the words and actions described by Donald Trump in the 11-year-old video released yesterday," Pence says on Twitter. "I do not condone his remarks and cannot defend them."

The Indiana governor says he is "grateful" that Trump "expressed remorse and apologized to the American people."

He says he looks forward to Sunday's debate where Trump will have the opportunity to show the nation "what is in his heart."
