Two more refugee trains arrive in Slovenia, Sentilj overcrowded

Two more Croatian Railways trains with approximately 2,500 migrants on board arrived on Wednesday evening and early Thursday morning in the Slovenian town of Dobova where they are waiting for their departure towards Sentilj, on the Slovenia-Austria border, or towards refugee centres in inland Slovenia.

The Slovenian authorities cannot immediately send migrants and refugees towards Sentilj because the transit refugee camp in Sentilj can accommodate 2,000 and currently more than 4,000 people are staying there, given that the authorities in Austria had not approved new crossings over the night.

Migrants and refugees are therefore staying at improvised facilities in Dobova where they are provided with health care and humanitarian aid, the police in Novo Mesto have said.

The Slovenian government is scheduled to convene on Thursday to discuss Slovenia's actions in case countries that had been receiving the highest number of refugees close their borders.
